Porpoise is a free, open-source file manager for macOS. There is no subscription or paid service required to use it.

Your software freedoms

Porpoise is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. You may run, study, modify and redistribute it under that license. Read the full license in the repository for the governing terms. This page is a short explanation and adds no restrictions to your license rights.

Bundled third-party components have their own licenses and notices, available in the project credits and source repository.

Warranty and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Porpoise is provided without warranty, and its authors and contributors are not liable for damages resulting from its use. The full warranty and liability provisions are in sections 15โ€“17 of the license. Rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded remain unaffected.

Porpoise can change, move and delete files. Keep backups of important data and review file operations before confirming them.

Google Drive and other services

Connecting Google Drive is optional and requires your own Google account and authorization. Your use of Google services is subject to Google's terms and the Google Drive terms. Other remote services you connect have their own terms. Porpoise is an independent project and is not affiliated with Google.

The privacy policy explains account access and local storage. Service availability, account restrictions and API access are controlled by the respective providers. Google Drive support is currently a preview while verification is pending.
